Set aside. Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat vegetable oil and sugar until thoroughly combined. Add eggs, flour, salt, cinnamon, baking soda and vanilla. Mix until well-blended. Add apples and raisins, if using, and gently combine, being careful not to break up the apples too much. Pour into prepared pan and bake for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Test with a toothpick or skewer; making sure it comes out clean. Cool the cake in the pan, turn out onto a cake platter and dust with powdered sugar<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLE SLICES<\/strong><br \/>\nObuoliu riekes<\/p>\n<p>1 egg yolk<br \/>\n1 cup plus<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. sugar<br \/>\n2\/3 cup milk<br \/>\n1 cup margarine<br \/>\n1 cup com flake crumbs<br \/>\n2 1\/2 cups flour<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. salt<br \/>\n8-10 apples<\/p>\n<p>Combine flour, salt, margarine and 1 Tbsp. sugar. Mix egg yolk with 2\/3 cup milk and add to the dough. Roll out half the dough, spread on 10\u201d x 15\u201d jelly roll pan. Spread corn flake crumbs over the dough. Slice apples, add 1 cup sugar and cinnamon and mix together. Spread over the dough and corn flakes. Roll out the other half of the dough and cover the apple mixture. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Frosting:<\/strong><br \/>\n1 cup powdered sugar<br \/>\n1 egg white, beaten until fluffy<\/p>\n<p>Pour over mixture when completely cool.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLE HOT CAKES<\/strong><br \/>\nObuoliniai blynai<\/p>\n<p>2 cups cake flour<br \/>\n3 Tbsps. sugar<br \/>\n2 tsps. baking soda<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. each: cinnamon, salt<br \/>\n1 1\/2 cups buttermilk<br \/>\n1 large egg<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine<br \/>\n1 tsp. vanilla<br \/>\n4 medium tart apples (Jonathans, Granny Smiths), washed, cored, shredded (about 3 cups)<br \/>\nButter, margarine or cooking spray for griddle<\/p>\n<p>For serving, warm maple syrup<\/p>\n<p>Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl. Add buttermilk, egg, melted butter and vanilla and mix well, then stir in apples. Or to make in food processor, shred apples and set aside. Combine remaining ingredients and mix with metal blade. Add apples and mix in lightly, just to combine. Heat greased griddle until hot. By scant XA cup (about 3 Tbsps.) amounts, spoon batter onto griddle, using back of spoon to spread to 3-inch rounds. Cook over medium heat, turning once, until browned on both sides and cooked through, about 6 minutes total. Cooked hot cakes can be kept warm in 200\u00b0 oven while others are being cooked. Serve warm with warm maple syrup.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLE CRISP<\/strong><br \/>\nTrapus obuoliu pyragas<\/p>\n<p><strong>Apple mixture<\/strong><br \/>\n8 cups thinly sliced apples<br \/>\n1\/2 cup flower<br \/>\n1\/2 cup sugar<br \/>\n1 tsp. salt<br \/>\n3 Tbsps. cinnamon<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crumb mixture<\/strong><br \/>\n1 cup flour<br \/>\n2 tsps. cinnamon<br \/>\n1 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1 cup oatmeal<br \/>\n2 sticks margarine<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Combine apple mixture ingredients and set aside. Combine crumb mixture and sprinkle evenly in the bottoms of two 8 \u201d x 9\u201d pans. Divide the apple mixture into the two pans and top each with remaining crumbs.
