Place prepared apples in\u00a0 pie\u00a0 plate.\u00a0 Pour\u00a0 orange\u00a0 juice\u00a0 over apples.\u00a0 Combine\u00a0 sugar,\u00a0 flour,\u00a0 cinna\u00admon,\u00a0 nutmeg,\u00a0 and salt\u00a0 in\u00a0 small\u00a0 bowl; cut butter into dry mixture, until it re\u00adsembles coarse crumbs.\u00a0 Evenly distrib\u00adute topping mixture over apples.\u00a0 Bake 40\u00a0 to\u00a0 45\u00a0 minutes,\u00a0 or\u00a0 until\u00a0 apples\u00a0 are tender.\u00a0 Cool 10\u00a0 minutes.\u00a0 Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.<br \/>\n<strong>CINNAMON-APPLE\u00a0 CAKE<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Cinamono-obuoli\u0173\u00a0 pyragas<\/em><br \/>\n1\/2 cups sugar, divided<br \/>\n3A cup (6 ounces) cream cheese,softened<br \/>\n1\/2 cup butter or stick margarine, softened<br \/>\n1 tsp. vanilla extract<br \/>\n2 large eggs<br \/>\n1\/2 cup all-purpose flour<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. baking powder<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. salt<br \/>\n2 tsps. ground cinnamon<br \/>\n3 cups chopped peeled apples (about 2 large)<\/p>\n<p>Oil or cooking spray Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.\u00a0 Beat\u00a0 IV2 cups sugar,\u00a0 cream cheese, butter and vanilla at\u00a0 medium speed\u00a0 of mixer\u00a0 until well- blended\u00a0 (about 4\u00a0 minutes).\u00a0 Add eggs, one\u00a0 at\u00a0 a\u00a0 time,\u00a0 beating well after\u00a0 each addition;\u00a0 set aside.\u00a0 Lightly spoon flour into\u00a0 dry\u00a0 measuring\u00a0 cups;\u00a0 level\u00a0 with knife.\u00a0 Combine\u00a0 flour,\u00a0 baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture; beat at low speed until blended.<br \/>\nCombine lA cup sugar and cinnamon. Combine\u00a0 2\u00a0 tablespoons\u00a0 of cinnamon mixture\u00a0 and\u00a0 apple\u00a0 in\u00a0 bowl;\u00a0 stir\u00a0 apple mixture\u00a0 in\u00a0 batter.\u00a0 Pour\u00a0 batter\u00a0 into\u00a0 8- inch spring form pan coated with butter or cooking spray, and sprinkle with re\u00admaining cinnamon mixture. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake pulls away from sides of pan. Cool cake com\u00adpletely on wire rack and cut, using ser\u00adrated knife.<br \/>\n<strong>APPLE\u00a0 AND\u00a0 OAT CAKE<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Obuolinis-avi\u017einis pyragas<\/em><br \/>\n1\/2 lbs.\u00a0 (4 medium) tart cooking apples, such as Granny Smith<br \/>\n5 Tbsps. brown sugar<br \/>\n3U tsp. ground cinnamon<br \/>\n1\/2 cup raisins<br \/>\n1\/2 cup (1 stick) butter, unsalted preferred, cold and cut up<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. honey<br \/>\n3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. grated lemon rind<br \/>\n2 large eggs, beaten Light or heavy cream<\/p>\n<p>Heat oven to 375\u00b0. Lightly butter and\u00a0 flour\u00a0 a\u00a0 9-inch\u00a0 round spring form\u00a0 pan. Peel,\u00a0 core\u00a0 and\u00a0 cut\u00a0 apples\u00a0 into\u00a0 1-inch pieces.\u00a0 In\u00a0 a\u00a0 heavy,\u00a0 medium\u00a0 saucepan combine the apples, 4 tablespoons sugar and\u00a0 cinnamon.\u00a0 Cook,\u00a0 covered,\u00a0 over medium-low heat until apples are soft, about\u00a0 15\u00a0 minutes.\u00a0 Remove from heat; add raisins;\u00a0 cool.\u00a0 In\u00a0 a small saucepan, melt the butter and honey with remain\u00ading 1 tablespoon sugar. Turn into a large bowl. Add oats, lemon rind and beaten eggs;\u00a0 mix well.\u00a0 Spoon one third of the oat-egg\u00a0 mixture\u00a0 into\u00a0 a\u00a0 prepared\u00a0 pan. Top\u00a0 with\u00a0 half the\u00a0 apple\u00a0 mixture.\u00a0 Re\u00adpeat\u00a0 the\u00a0 layers,\u00a0 topping with\u00a0 oat-egg mixture.\u00a0 Bake until\u00a0 top\u00a0 is\u00a0 golden\u00a0 and cake is\u00a0 done,\u00a0 about 30 minutes.\u00a0 Serve warm, cut into wedges, with cream.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLE\u00a0 CAKE W ITH\u00a0 RAISINS<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Obuoli\u0173-razin\u0173\u00a0 pyragas<\/em><\/p>\n<p>1 cup vegetable oil<br \/>\n1\/4 cups sugar<br \/>\n2 large eggs<br \/>\n2\/2 cups all-purpose flour<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1 tsp. each cinnamon, baking soda and vanilla<br \/>\n3 Tbsps. apple juice<br \/>\n2 large tart apples (Granny Smith or similar),\u00a0 cored, unpeeled, cut into 1\/4- inch slices (yields about 3\/2 cups)<br \/>\n1 cup golden raisins (optional)<br \/>\nPowdered sugar for dusting butter and flour a 10-inch tube pan.<\/p>\n<p>Set aside. Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat vegetable oil\u00a0 and\u00a0 sugar\u00a0 until\u00a0 thoroughly\u00a0 com\u00adbined. Add eggs, flour, salt, cinnamon, baking soda, vanilla and apple juice. Mix until well-blended. Add apples and rai\u00adsins,\u00a0 if using,\u00a0 and gently combine,\u00a0 be\u00ading careful\u00a0 not\u00a0 to\u00a0 break up\u00a0 the apples too much. Pour into prepared pan and bake for approximately\u00a0 1\u00a0 hour and\u00a0 15 minutes, but begin testing the cake for done ness at the 1-hour mark.
